Importance of education

Guest: Mr. Santosh
Host: Bilal Khan
Date of interview: 27 January 2019

On 27 January 2019, I have taken an interview of a person who truly inspired me by showing the importance of education and being educated in society. A story that must be shared amongst all of you. So friends let’s explore the story of Santosh, a story in his own words.

He mentioned that his mother used to force him to go to school, but he used to skip school and used to spend time roaming around with friends. A time came when his mother had to borrow money to meet the expenses such as food, in a form of loans (from Pathans), on which she has to pay the interest as well.

As Santosh mentioned:

“ People used to come to my home and ask to repay the loan and amount of interest and as my mother   did not have money to repay them, they used to quarrel “

He shared that when he was 13 or 14, he started his first job as now it was mandatory to earn some money in order to repay the loans and for a living. He and his three brothers used to do a job in order to meet the expenses and no one has taken education, at first probably they did not know the importance of education and after a certain point of time because they were not left with an option instead of doing the job.

When I asked him that now does he give emphasis to his children that they do not skip school and take education and does he tell his children that how important is to get an education. After listening to his reply, my heart got into tears. He replied:

“ If I have to work extra and if I need to do one more job at night in order to meet the expenses of my children’s education, I am ready to do it. And I always motivate them to study hard by telling them the importance of education in our society and by telling them that if you study hard and get an education, you will not go through with such difficulties and pain that I have gone through in my childhood “

Friends the purpose of sharing this with all of you is to make you feel special as we are blessed with the best and we have so many opportunities and facilities in our lives. Even then we always complain regarding the problems and the things that we do not have. Friends always focus on what you have rather than what you do not have. Explore yourself and make the best use of the opportunities and resources that you have in your life.

To conclude, I want to request all of you to please do take care of such people in our society as they need us. Help them in any way you can or at least spread a smile on their faces by telling them that they are being acknowledged and appreciated for what they have done and are doing for us and for the society as a whole.

Thank you for reading. If you like this post please share it with your friends and family.

Stay blessed!
