Understanding PER & EPSM

The ACCA Practical Experience Requirement (PER) requires you to complete a minimum of 36 months of relevant practical experience and demonstrate achievement of five Performance Objectives — all documented through your ACCA MyExperience portal and signed off by an approved workplace supervisor.

The Ethics and Professional Skills Module (EPSM) is an online module that develops your professional and ethical skills through realistic workplace scenarios. It must be completed before you can apply for full ACCA membership.

Many ACCA students spend years in limbo — exams passed, but membership not achieved — simply because they don't have clear guidance on how to document their experience correctly, identify the right performance objectives, or navigate the EPSM effectively. That's precisely what I fix.

Common mistake: Many students document experience in vague, generic terms that don't align with ACCA's competency framework. Specific, structured documentation — written the ACCA way — is the key to sign-off success.

The 5 Performance Objectives

PO 1
Professionalism, Ethics & Governance
Demonstrate ethical behaviour and professional scepticism
PO 2
Personal Effectiveness
Manage time, communication, and professional development
PO 3
Business Management
Understand business strategy, risk, and organisational context
PO 4
Financial Reporting
Prepare and analyse financial statements and reports
PO 5
Financial Management
Manage financial resources, budgets, and controls

The PER & EPSM Mentoring Process

1

2
Gap Analysis Identify exactly which performance objectives you've met, which need more documented evidence, and what experience you still need to gain.
3
Documentation Strategy I teach you exactly how to write your performance objective statements in the ACCA-approved format — specific, evidence-based, and compelling.
4
Supervisor Guidance Guidance on how to brief your workplace supervisor, what they need to review, and how to get their sign-off smoothly and promptly.
5
EPSM Module Walkthrough Complete guidance through the Ethics and Professional Skills Module — scenarios, responses, and completing the module to the required standard.
6
FCCA Membership Application Final review of your complete PER documentation and EPSM, ensuring everything is in order before you submit your full ACCA membership application.

I was going through one of the most difficult phases of my life when I connected with Bilal for life coaching. His approach is incredibly thoughtful — he blends practical strategy with a deep understanding of personality and purpose. Genuinely life-changing.

SaadACCA PER & EPSM Guidance
ACCA requires a minimum of 36 months of relevant experience. However, with proper planning and documentation from the start, you can have your PER signed off as soon as you hit the 36-month mark — rather than spending years in limbo afterwards.
Yes — and this is actually the recommended approach. Starting your PER documentation early, while you're still completing your exams, means you can apply for full membership sooner after your final exam pass.
The EPSM is not formally "passed or failed" in the traditional exam sense. However, it requires genuine engagement with ethical scenarios and professional judgement. With proper guidance, most students complete it comfortably within 2–4 weeks.

Time to Achieve Full FCCA Membership

Don't spend another year as part-qualified. With the right guidance, your FCCA membership is closer than you think.
